The VW Club of Hawaii was invited to the 95th running of the Kamehameha Day Parade! This was a live telecasted event! We were looking for 30 or more cars, but came in with 24 for our first time out in this historical event. We want to thank all the drivers who came out early at 5:00am for the line up and showed their Hawiian spirit with their awesome elaborate floral decorated VW’s!  Being invited to and involved in such an event really hits home in the roots of Hawaiian history! It was such an honor to be in the presence of the Royal Kamehameha family. So many smiles and shaka’s throughout the parade from VW fans. The other great news is …WE ARE INVITED BACK NEXT YEAR IN 2012!!!  Aloha and Mahalo as we hope to see you there next year! The VW Club of Hawaii

Oahu King Kamehameha Day Parade

The floral parade held in Honolulu every June, to honor the memory of King Kamehameha, is the longest parade in Hawaii. The 95th Annual Honolulu King Kamehameha Day Parade will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The parade will begin at King & Richards and end at Kapi’olani Park via Punchbowl, Ala Moana and Kalakaua Avenue.

BIG MAHALO to the VW show car drivers who participated over the weekend at the Hawaii Convention Center!!! We had over 50,000 people come through and admire your Classic and Custom VW’s from Hawaii and around the world! We would like to also thank all the club members and families who made it out to support our Hawaiian style passion for VW’s. Great coments from so many VW people on how they reminisced and appreciate our work and dedication to ”keeping back in da day going strong”! Congrats to the winners of peoples choice, and mahalo to the VW Club of Hawaii Crew members who came out and helped make it all come together.  We also had 2 Hot VW’s Magazine cars with Denly Agcoaili’s 1956 Oval Rag Top and Kim Meyers 1960 Lamborgini Yellow Ghia. It was also a huge showing for Shawn Murray owner of Aloha Termite as he debuted his freshly finished 1978 yellow Super Vert rolling on Budnick 18″ wheels!!!  Aloha VW Ohana, Just sending out a small kine mahalo to all the VW Show Car Drivers who came out for the Helluva Rides II Boys and Girls Club fundraiser event! This was a small 11 car invitational event for the VW Clubs due to limited space. The day was blazing hot and the VW Club of Hawaii teamed up with the 706 VW Club from Ewa Beach for an awesome showing directly across the street from the Ward Theater! The VW Clubs combined our pocket money to raise over $100.00 for our donation. Many other cars and clubs came out in force too, but The 706 Green and Black Top Ghia owned by Al Mags and driven by Leroy came out a winner for the Kids Choice Award!!! Guess da Kids really know where its at when it comes to the killer on da ground stance and 706 old school look of Mags Ghia! Aloha VW Ohana, Sending out a HUGE KANAKA SIZE MAHALO to all who contributed to the 2010 Shaka Weekend Car Show and Food Bank Drive. With all your help and awesome support the 9th annual event went off successfully and smooth. We had 134 VW ‘s at the Keyhole on Saturday and over 90 for the around the island cruise on Sunday!!! One of our bigest events yet!!!
