VW CLUB OF HAWAII EVENT STANDARDS

The VW Club of Hawaii is strictly a volunteer, Ohana driven organization/club.  Volunteers donate their quality time to better serve the greater VW community.  As such we request you behave as good ambassadors of the VW brand.  No exhibition of speed or racing in or around or during VWCoH events.  No illegal activities or unruly behavior that will discredit the VWCoH.  Failure to abide by our request will result in a year suspension from future VWCoH events.  Your kokua to keep our VW Ohana events fun, safe and enjoyable will be greatly appreciated.  Aloha & Mahalo, The VW Club of Hawaii

Once in a while we promote our sponsors.  Today on Alex Ching’s birthday we’re promoting Island VeeDub.  Alex has been sponsoring the VW Club Of Hawaii for years and we truly appreciate his sponsorship.  Alex suuports the VW community on his spare time but somehow between fatherhood and being the great husband that he is, he does manage to support the VW community by being the premier distributor in VW parts that we all need and want.  Alex, too, is a craftsman. After 15 years of painstaking man-hours he transformed a ’62 ‘vert to a Shaka Show Best of Show and hotVWs Magazine feature VeeDub.  Not too many VW enthusiasts have conquered this feat while balancing life in paradise.  You may see Alex cruising his daily drivers — either a yellow and white 21-window or a black ‘vert Ghia.  Again, MAHALO Alex and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Many mahalos to the ~20 VeeDubs who inaugurated the Rainbow’s Drive-In HOTVWs Cruise Night.  Randy Wong’s Barn Doors ((yes, 2 barn doors)) were a welcomed surpise.  Thanks to Anthony Nguyen and Scott Penman for taking pictures of this event for RK Smith’s Shaka Weekend coverage.

Jim Gusukuma, Rainbow’s Drive-In would welcome us, again, next Labor Day weekend.
